I'd rather wait for someone here to describe the process in meaningful
biological and mathematical language rather than make not-very-funny
jokes based on some vague misinterpretation.

To many gaps in the archaeological reords to say for sure only recently they found a 7 million year old hominid thats 3.8 million years older than the famous hominid lucy who was thought to be mans oldest ancestor at the time she was found. The way we look just now (homo sapiens) have only been on the earth for 150,000 years. One thing that does seperate humans form the rest of the animal kingdom is that our brain size has increased faster than ANY OTHER SPECIES THAT HAS EVER LIVED ON THE PLANET.

Trumpton,
Yes the DNA is present but how do you know if the Earth creatures did not interbreed with aliens or that aliens did not copy the DNA code to create primate machines occupied by themselves?
Mike.

Life has had around 2 billion years to perfect techniques of fightin virus and bacterial attack. Even now, most animals die of disease, and up until the last century, most people did as well.

Since aliens either wouldn't have an immune system like ours, and if they did, they wouldn't recognise our bacteria or viruses, then it is believed an alien being would most certainly be eaten alive within 24 hours upon reaching Earth.

Even when we send probes to Mars and Venus etc, the parts have to be completely sterile before launch, so we do not kill potential life by sending bacteria and viral life into space.
