Who mentioned the Americans?
Deuce?........Fudgey?..........it wasn't me.
You've missed my point........again. I'm not talking of the rights & wrongs of semantics; I'm talking about words that would come naturally to an Englishman. We just don't use the word 'soccer'.....geddit?
Even if you hate the game, an Englishman would say he hated football, he hates football, he loves football, he plays football, he watches football, he is a football hooligan, he is a football fanatic, we all have a 'FOOTBALL' Association...........need I go on?
My girlfriend used to say.....are you watching the football tonight, babe? Even the birds say fucking football! We're not brought up saying 'soccer', and so we don't use it.
I reiterate for you.......it's not about rights & wrongs, but what word comes to mind naturally. I don't know anyone from the home countries that uses 'soccer'.
Finis.

Yeah, well nobody forced you to live here. As long as you remain, you are one of the herd.
Not everyone is under the egotistical,over-hyped,over-rated,overpaid twats umbrella, nor do they need following around.
You sound mixed up, fella. All the best in getting the head straight.
Byesy.
