TalkTalk aka CrapCrap.
May be better now but it took them at least 6 months to connect a friend, date after date promised but no connection.
Then his email was not reliable for a while.
But to be fair no hassles recently.
They have bought out UK division of AOL and as I understand will be combining the two systems. We are on AOL at work so half expecting hassle sooner or later.

OK, how do you rate Tiscali then? I've heard some good and some bad things about them. I can't make my mind up. !confused!

Couple of mates have 2mb Tiscali. Shitty USB modems that keep disconnecting you. Speeds are what they say they are though; but can they deliver 8mb?

You see I'm looking to change my ISP. Currently I'm with BT, but they're on the expensive side - although I've never had any problems with them.

How much are you paying, what speed are you at, and is it unlimited?

No, 5gb limit per month.

I think I pay BT about ?13 a month, then Be ?14 a month for 8mb (I'm getting over 10mb) and unlimited use.
Tiscali would be cheaper, but those usb modems are wank. I'd stick it out a while longer until your exchange gives you more choice.

I'm with nildram (now owned by Pipex, a tiscali company.........) and have never had a problem.
Although it seems some don' like them, i've never had any appreciable downtime, (about 2 hrs is the longest I c an remember) and the tech support is excellent, as they actually know what a mac is.

My GBP37.50 per month pays for everything - including phone calls.

Well, I pay ?10 less than you, per month but I only get free evening and weekend calls to landlines. Hardly use the landline to be honest as my mobile contract covers all my phone needs.
