You captured the almost cavalier approach to punctuation and sentences of no more than ten syllables quite perfectly. 9/10. My only quibble would be that it would be typed out like this:

"I was listening to a record It was quite old. But I liked it The drummer died."

Rather than each sentence on a different line.
