If Joe Bloggs was intelligent, Joe Bloggs would know that if everybody had a 'good idea'; if everybody had a 'get rich quick scheme'; and if everybody had the drive then it would be a waste of time forging ahead with their idea. Why? Because we cannot all be rich. If we were all millionaires then a loaf of bread would cost ?100,000, cancelling out that wealth.

In the capitalist world, for every entrepreneur that makes a million, they are doing so EXACTLY because others aren't. Capitalism needs (say) 1000 people to accept life near the poverty line, for every entrepreneur to succeed.

The distribution of wealth, in a global economy, is like moving the weight from one side of a boat to another. You cannot add ballast to starboard without making port lighter.

Emily,i know a forum is about discussion,and of course disagreement will occur,but you've got to face the risk of comebacks if one gets offended by a certain post.Anyways,water under the Bridge.

As Sam Slater said,some people choose not to be rich or mega rich,it don't mean that they're thick,they may lack drive and ambition as you pointed out.Some of us are content with what we've got,yet can still get alienated by the way some people disrespect money.

I don't blow money on designer clothes,expensive goods etc,because i choose not to.I'm investing for the future as i know bad times lie ahead.

But you've got to admit,some people just don't deserve wealth.Reality TV stars,people who sell their stories to the papers.In other words,manufactured wealth.

If people get rich through hard work,then good luck to them.There has to be a moral ground between respecting wealth and not absusing one's wealth.
