Is it inconceivable that the whole thing was staged by this "family", with a lucrative trust fund in mind?

Without wanting to stop free speech, you can begin to see why some forums have already closed or locked debate on this subject.

They were my immediate thoughts too....look how much the McCanns have "raised".
I hope I'm wrong and this bloke's just a bit of a strange one, with the kid's parents having nothing whatsoever to do with the abduction.

Obviously Admin and the moderators of this forum cannot monitor our posts 24/7,so it's our responsibility as well in how we conduct ourselves, especially as someone is now in police custody on suspicion, and the little girl is now in the care of the Social Services.

The most important factor is that she's been found, safe and well.

It would be wrong to point fingers and to mount a McCarthy-style witch hunt. Lets just be thankful she is alive and well and not traumatised too much that can't be rectified.
However, she'll be in Foster Care for the foreseeable future now, and maybe thats a good thing....at least she's safe and away from the media glare

If this is true I'm sure then ITV has contravened broadcasting regulations and OFCOM should look into this.

Is anyone really that bothered? This has been a news issue for weeks, so it will only stop when people grow bored of it, which will probably be soon - it's just a sideshow in a circus.
Which brings me on to the news - dumbed down or what? There was a report on this on BBC news earlier, with some 'ace reporter' repeating all the rumours and supposition, and started explaining - in very basic terms - 'how the police might start investigating this'. I honestly thought I was watching Newsround, not the world reknown BBC main news!
