It matters not one jot to me whether they're black Africans on the plains of Kilimanjaro, or white pikey chavs on a council estate in darkest Wakefield.

There have been success stories in Africa - and I applaud those Africans who have made the best of the opportunities they've been given. But these are very few and far between in comparison to the amount of money that's been showered on the continent since the end of the war.

Kind of a "virtual pub" in a way - you can even have a couple of nicely chilled cans on the go while you hack away at the keyboard, and every now and again, someone gets a bit too boistrous and abrasive, so the bouncers (admin) show him the door.

I was going quietly honest but you said:

Gotta disagree with that one. I strongly suspect it is race motivated...simply because its about Africa and its hard to escape the fact that we are talking about aid being given to people who happen to be black.

And I see a huge difference between those sitting on there arse and can find work and those sitting onthere arse starving unable to find work in a country where a loaf od bread is being sold at 150000 times more because of inflation.

The huge problem with Africa lies in its debt which it will never see itself out of..Quite convenient that really as it is a clever way of enslaving a whole continent and keeping it exactly how it is without any progress.

Instead of giving Africa more aid why not just erase its national debt? I dont hear anyone in favour of that but quick toi bellyacheabout 100 million being donated which inevitably will put the country in more debt...

So carry on if ot makes you feel good.

The same tired old hackneyed bleeding-heart mantras that get trotted out as excuses for the inability (or should that be unwillingness) or many Africans to help themselves.

I'll concede that African governments are partly to blame - corruption and asset-looting being rife on a massive scale (just one small example among many: just where did the funds for Mugabe's luxury lakeside mansion come from, I wonder, while his people starve).

But how can a "donation" of 100 million (in the form of 20 million mosquito nets paid for by the UK Treasury) put the continent in more debt?? That one really puzzles me.

It's a d...o...n...a...t...i...o...n (look it up in the dictionary). In other words (yet another) hand-out.

And as for writing off the debts - Western governments have written off shedloads of African dedt over the years, and continue to do so. That's on top of all the money (in the form of hand-outs called "international aid" - NOT loans) that gets poured in (and not just by Britain, by other countries too).

Carry on bandying about your silly accusations of racism "if it makes you feel good" (to borrow your own turn of phrase). But you seem to be a lone voice.

So that makes it ok not to help thousands of people when some mad despot takes over a country then does it. Lets swing it around another way then. I believe britain entered the war and sacrificed many of its own people when germany invaded poland.

So you think Britain has no motive for giving away 100 million???? You think they are giving it to ingratiate themselves with so called luvvies.

a: Because I can
b: Hopefully the people will remember I did them this great favour on behalf of a great generous nation that helps its neighbours in need
c: Its a basic political strategy future proofing relations between ours and their country when the time comes for it...Ooh like building missile bases. Stationing ourt troops in their country if need be because flying troops straight to international hotzones is very risky if you dont have a rally point.
d: Britain loves to appease the americans. Keeps us in their good books as anally
e: ?100 million is a great donation to try and rid the world of malaria so its a good cause in my book. While were at it we are future proofing the nations health against this age old disease.

I'm sure if I can think beyond this there is a plethroa of reasons to give that money.

Britain is the smartest country I can think of when it comes to strategy on all levels.

I'm sure Gordon Brown knows about the mumblings and murmurs of disapproval with this act of generosity and dont forget the chorus of approval of americans because he did this.

Everyone knows Britain always appeases american interests because its good to have a big bastard brute bully for a mate if you dont know why Tony Blair sent his boys in on the basis of a big fat american lie.

Britain can keep chucking money at the NHS but for some reason it never gets anywhere. Probably becausethe government are trying to turn it into americas way of health care.

So that argument with those intentions is going to fall on deaf ears.

I regard every bit of news that comes out of The Sun with contempt as well. I'm a bit right wing when it suits me but I can see beyond those headlines because the Sun opposes the labour government.

I'm not happy with Labour for being in power but lets face it, they lost to the Tories for power....

Now do you know what I mean when I use the words end game?

Britain and america play this game so well. It doesnt matter if its Tories or Labour. Both parties know the advantages of playing up to america and being seen as good in the eyes of the world.

Thats my understandingof it anyway.
