I've used Maplin for years, don't usually have a problem, but then I normally know what I'm after and don't buy the plastic crap.

For batteries, chargers and cables they are pretty good - and cheap.

Ok obviously Maplin don't do ear bandages for Trumpton, but if you are in the flow of looking for electrical gear you could do a lot worse than visiting your local maplin and the online equivalent they usually have some nice bargains in Sat. Gear, Air Conditioners etc. so worth a look if you have one near you - look at the product physically instore and then you can usually get some discount vouchers online as well ...

PEOPLE think Stephen Hawking is so clever, but when you ask him a question and he is typing in the answer on his little screen, how do we know he isn't just looking up the answer on the Internet?

A wall clock for a kitchen? Get to ASDA for that kind of tat Stevie, or an outdoor market. Argos will have choice, but at a few quid.

Must admit I regard Argos as even worse than Maplins - their 16 day refund policy is great, except for the fact too many chavs buy stuff, use it for a couple of weeks and then take it back. I can't count the number of things I've had from them over the years that somebody had obviously used and repackaged badly --- of course they all went back. Now I only buy cheap rubbish there, wouldn't trust them on a major item.
