Bit late on this one, so apologies for my beleated reply.
I think Miss Bardot should be congratulated as she only re-iterates what the majority of French people think but are too worried to speak out.
Her views on Islam all began when a muslim family slaughtered a sheep in the street in St Tropez where she resides and we all know BB's views on animals. This was the start of her crusade against Muslims. Now, if I saw a sheep/goat being butchered in the street where I lived, I'd have something to say as well.

Re: Brigitte Bardot Guilty
There are none so blind as those that don't want to see. UAE, Bahrain, Afghanistan, Tunisia, Egypt ...... all Muslim countries all allow the sale of alcohol to non-Muslims and yet the Qur'an specifically says "Shaitan wants only to excite enmity and hatred between you with intoxicants and gambling, and hinder you from the remembrance of Allah and from As-Salat. So, will you not then abstain?"
So how do the Daily Mail educated spokesmen for "The English" explain that one? Because for me it is certainly tolerating our way of life in their lands with their law.

They do now Jacques, but I used to stop over Bahrain and Oman on the route to Hong Kong a lot, and the airports were the ONLY place you could get alcohol. Even the hotels didn't serve it, so subsequently, pilots and crew stocked up at the Duty Free for their own personal useage.
Now, of course, the Middle esat is the new playboys playground, and subsequently, alcohol laws have been relaxed.
My dad worked in Hong Kong and was offered a post in Dubai which he turned down flat as his contract offered did state clearly that alcohol was banned to ex-pats and reprisals would occur if caught drinking. I know lots of parties went on, but my old man said 'bollocks to that!'

Exactly, which now makes them progressive and tolerant, to a degree, of "Western Values", hardly medieval and intolerant of any other way of life in their lands as certain .... erm .... "types" on this forum seem to ascertain.

I don't think we should expect Arab countries to sell alcohol to westerners, in their lands. If it's an illegal substance there (albeit through religious doctrine) then who are we to complain and criticise?
I'm sure there are countries where snorting cocaine is legal; should we tolerate those peoples' habits upon arrival at Heathrow?

I used to spend a lot of time criticizing Islam on here in the noughties - but things are much better now.
Re: Brigitte Bardot Guilty
Alcohol is socially acceptable in the West. Is Cocaine?
Expectation is nothing to do with it, it's about being tolerant to other values alien to your own. Some countries have accepted this and thus have progressed and cannot be classed as medieval. Take the religious blinkers off Sam, it clouds your vision.
