Sandie, in addition to Tesco, Sainsbury's, Asda, Morrison's et al, I often use some of the - errrr - less "salubrious" supermarkets namely Aldi and Netto... both these charge for carriers. Do I use a carrier in either of these store - NO... so yes, you're right - charging for bags DOES make a difference.
Would I support it? I don't know. I like the convenience of a bag at the moment but if this move was to become widely adopted I dare say I'd be forced to invest in a Roy-Cropper-Bag and I'd use it.

I'm with you on this Johnny... I often use a carrier as a "mini bin liner" - when I have something I dont want sat in the kitchen for a while I bag it immediately in a carrier and "out" it to the big bin straight away. Without carriers I might use a lot more bin liners - 6 of 1, 6 of the other....
