Max, benefit is a subsistence living if that. There was recent coverage in the media about a campaign to eradicate child poverty. I think their definition of poverty was less than ?10 a day to live on. Do the maths .. ?60 divided by 7 days equals less than ?10 therefore using this measure they're in poverty.

I don't really understand why this bothers you so much .. we're routinely misled by the Gov't, by the media and by corporations and yet you're more concerned by Romanians who may be misrepresenting the extent of their poverty.

Max there is a lot and I mean a lot of bollocks talked about the Big Issue and the people who sell it.

Did you click the link?

With regards to "I think someone should...." IF it bothers you so much and you have the facts to support your claim, including the location (which is designated) and the vendors badge number (which must be visible) why leave it to 'someone' why not do it yourself?

Not only would it give you the opportunity do something worthwhile IF the vendor(s) are breaking the Big Issue's vendors agreements, the Big Issue would be delighted to hear about it and equally as delighted to stop it from happening.

One last point with regards to 'people who are clean shaven, have clean clothes on' don't forget that a lot of shelters offer the chance to wash, have a shave etc and the opportunity to wash clothes.
