The Prisoner was and remains one of the finest series' ever made. It's influence is undeniable and the fact it really was years ahead of its time should not be forgotten. As for the man himself, PM was a man of many principals (which caused him to reject the role of James Bond) and was a hugely gifted actor. God bless Paddy.

I believe that Lew Grade actually asked for more episodes that was originally envisaged.

And Colonel is right, the project was planned as a single series. There was never any intention to make it anything more than that.
