Ive probably skipped some broad strokes because I could be arsed to read this entire thread so forgive me if its been said already but witheht likes of "Come Play With Me" representing the cheeky soft porn aspect of that era, hard core porn was largely underground.
The man you want to speak to is Mike Freeman who posts on here as Erotic Artist as Im sure being from that period he will have a wealth of knowledge that will help you out.
For more recent years you may like to check out Bruce Barnards book "Flesh Trade" (cos there is a chapter featuring me in it too ha ha!)
I cant believe that Flesh Trade is the only book on this topic and Im sure there are plenty more if you google the topic.

Folks,
again - thanks so much for your insight, I'm on a roll grabbing books from second hand bookshops and stalking eBay geniuses who know where to get stuff.
As for the nature of my scientific project - it isn't a thesis, that one's already been done. It's a look at how international mainstream media treats the porn business in the wake of digitalisation and the forefront of crisis. Does moral prejudice still exist when content businesses share the same problems (piracy, free availability, cloyingness)?
We're currently in the process of looking at yesterday's coverage of porn in the US, Spain, Germany, the Netherlands, France and the UK. With the latter you've helped me - tremendously.
Thanks again,
Sabine
