To be fair, Reggie, I doubt anyone in England said that about the French during the numerous wars we've had with them. The divide between western Europe and the old USSR was political, nothing else. You know that!
A political philosophy based on the ideals of two Germans, who wrote and published their ideals in England. Communism is a very European affair.

Instead of writing special songs they could have just taken a current German hit - this is probably better than any of the crap on the official contest, ir's definitely Eurovision-esque

That might be just your personality, Reggie. While in America I went out quite a few times with Cubans, Americans, Spaniards, French, Hungarian, Danish, Russians and Aussies. The Aussies and Russians were the ones I could identify most with.
