I dont think it will be a problem Twingo. it was just a genuine query since I know some others who have made the move and havent seen any difference in traffic and just wondered why they crossed over and the usual answer is because others are doing so.
I just wondered why some made the move when it wasnt really necessary is all.
I made the move because I am shooting a lot of stuff outside of adult right now and I figured this was the new standard to work in because of its better sense of cinema with regards to visuals.
Personally I dont think 16:9 works with gonzo porn but Im doing it anyway.
I've still got over a years worth of updates before the HD stuff kicks in so I have awhile to go yet. I can understand many people starting out in HD but those with a huge catalogue behind us need not worry. Just wondered if this was lost on the consumer is all.
As per usual, people have to make things personal unfortunately.

Not at all CAPN....But if you are going to take the piss then I will do so also.
I make it personal when the attack on me is personal and by you suggesting I live on another planet was your first personal attack.
I wouldve taken the capn comment as a joke if it wasnt compounded with that comment.
Furthermore I dont need to name the sites for the simple fact I didnt specify it had to be British.

Also CAPN I sent you a private email answering a subject on here the other day that you didnt bother aknowledging with regards to "so called " producers comment hence why I think you must have an issue with me.
In my mind now, I have given you cause to have issue. So its all good with me if you wish to be outspoken and respond to my posts with condescending comments.
If you dont like the porn I produce thats fine. Just no need to make it personal because that is where I will come gunning for you.

1) "Not sure I detect a rebuke of sorts in your post or whether you are just being humorous either way you are entitled to your opinion."
Hi OEJ. No rebuke of any kind intended - apologies if my posting has came across this way.
2) "Where precisely did I question sites in particular in this thread???"
Your initial post finishes by asking consumers "whether it makes one jot if the SITE (my emphasis added) you put money into is HD or not". All I was flagging up was that my position (pro-HD) is based on the fact that I don't subscribe to sites - I just buy DVDs. Therefore, I don't have to consider IT/content delivery issues such as download caps/reliability/connection speed/processor speeds etc, which would be a factor to consider if I was subscribing to an HD porn website.
I understand you distribute your content mainly via your own sites (happy to stand corrected if that's not the case), whereas I don't buy online content, so this is why I was suggesting my comments may not be "particularly useful market research for you".

Thanks for clearing that up Alicia Fan. I was canvassing for opinions with regards the end user as I have had this discussion with various producers anyway.
It seems many producers are future proofing but I dont get that either. So much content is available on standard format already that it is not going to be overlooked because it is all product no matter what.
As I said one notable producer told me he has no intention of ever going HD as not one person has even asked for it yet.
I guess its all down to personal choice and what is in your budget.
If I was starting out new like many do then i would see HD as the viable option.

If you have to really ask that question then you probably are and just afraid to admit it...I guess since you told us about it then maybe you are not.
Who cares anyway?
