Seriously though, I agree with you Reg (can't believe I just wrote that!).

The vast majority of Germans today were born after the war finished and must get sick of being reminded of the sins of the past in a way that implies the newer generations have somehow inherited the guilt. I often wonder if this constant ridiculing of the Germans drives some to join the neo-Nazi groups.

I doubt it does. Most people distinguish very well between the Nazi's then and the Germans now. I certainly do. I've always believed that you can't blame people for what their parents did, and therefore I have no beef at all with modern Germany.

This cannot be 'racist', by simple virtue of the fact that the Poles - and the Germans, for that matter - are of the same race as the English.

'Racism' in day to day usage had a definitiion so broad that it means anything and everything. This is largely thanks to the television media who have extended the meaning of the term largely, in my opinion, to stir up trouble. It wont be long until it is racist to be white...
