Papillon is a classic, as is Getaway, and my favourite is Sand Pebbles about a US Gunboat in China set in the mid-20's.
If you like hunky firemen, theres Towering Inferno as well.

Michael Caine cos he got to put it abaht in "Alfie" and also got to shoot some arseholes in "Get Carter" and he became the top dog in "The man who would be King" a brilliant film.

I thought Casanova had syphillis amongst other things! I don't think they had GUM clinics then and you certainly couldn't get a test done, if you could have done, it would have taken them hours to write out your test using a quill pen!
