I tried that, but it didn't work.

I did my best to politely explain to him how, from both a political and constitutional point of view, it was impossible for both Brown and Cameron to be joint Prime Ministers when he was so concerned, some 6-8 weeks ago, about how they might have to go about sharing No 10! But he carried on, going on about how they (Brown and Cameron) would run the country together as joint leaders. In the end I did get frustrated with him, and was possibly a little sharp with him.

Maybe shaming him into educating himself might work instead. I'll let you know once the experiment is over.
