It renders in the background, all the time/as it needs it. For general work, it *should* be ready for output as soon as you've made the last cut and dropped it on the timeline. No need to render, and I don't think apple-R exists anymore.

You need to check if your MBP (or it's graphics card) on the first link I posted in this thread. My MBP doesn't support it :-(

Played for about an hour, I like it for what I do, I can see why others hate it because it no longer does what they need.

Right now, buy it if you can afford it, and have the time to play and learn, but don't expect to switch your workflow over straight away.

Don't buy a new computer just to use this.

Thanks for that.To be honest, I only use a fraction of the facilities available in FCP 7. When I render a movie of 2.5 hours it takes about 4 hours, so I just leave it running overnight, it's not really a problem. I'll leave it for the moment.
