I must sympathize with Trinity to travel from Nottingham to Hull by train on a Saturday is a nightmare with at least 2 changes
What i could not understand is why you did not use one of the old fashioned pay phone boxes on Hull station

As Trinity said, if you can't turn your phone on, you don't have the number to call.
This post has been valuable in one respect as it teaches the very simple lesson: put contact details and an address on a PIECE OF PAPER!
I know - I don't always do it either....

I bought a load of girls these for xmas and birthdays, its well worth investing in one.
I also have a which has saved mylife a 100 times over
Now carry both in my courier bag, and in my camera bag, I have a PC, Car, Mains charger all in one thats saved me as many times.
A few people at the last BGAFD event saw how many back up devices i carry to ensure I am powered up
Altho on few occasions I have managed to forget all of these, but then found Carphone Warehouse, The Link and some others carry disposable battery power packs for about ?4.
Not much help now, but some idea's and hopefully food for thought

And some mobile phone shops will do a fast charge for you.
I meet strangers all th time for work. I always have the info on my pda phone, my mobile, laptop and on paper. I can also access my email as webmail if it came to it.
Sounds like a lessons learned day for all concerned.
Accept it as a screw up and move on. Hopefuly you can put it behind you both and maybe do something together again.

In fairness, I notice that the original poster did not mention the model by name.
Nevertheless, is the purpose of this board just to rant and complain? Surely it would have been more suitable to place this thread in off-topic?

All i was doing was explaining what had ACTUALLY happened instead of a fabricated version!
I'd have prefered it if he had have asked me what happened before this, but as it took him about 45 mins to reply to a text after i'd charged my phone i thought i'd say my side!
Would've been a different story if anything else had happened to me! i'm jst glad i got out of hull safely and made it home!

"i'm jst glad i got out of hull safely and made it home!"
And that's the most important thing. Lessons will have been learned for both of you. But perhaps waiting for an explanation before posting complaints would be best in future. Or, if this forum is involve bitter in-fighting, accusations and counter-accusations, maybe it's best to lock us punters out.
Take care, Trinity, and carry on the good work, James.
