No, I didn't mean it quite like that. I am NOT slagging off the show itself. Let me explain as best I can...

When I went in 2007 it was all about the PHYSICAL product. Actual DVDs that you could stock in your licensed sex shop. Actual Dildos that you could purchase in large quantities to re-sell, clothing lines, fetish equipment etc etc etc...

NOTHING WRONG WITH THAT AT ALL... But, there was (in 2007) virtually zero online type stuff there. Jerry was there with Strictly Broadband and UK AdultDating was there... But try as I might, I really cannot remember any other real online presence.

I mean yeah, I've sold DVDs in my time, and Stockings and dildos... But I have always done it in an online virtual environment. I have not bought physical stock, and distributed it myself from a warehouse.

And, as all the stuff I do, is virtual - I was a bit disappointed. In that although it was a good show, and well attended... It wasn't that relevant to me.

Hopefully it has changed and I may go next year if I hear it has, but if your hoping (As you said above) to sell content, or 'do websites' with people.... Then I wish you luck. I mean go by all means. And please report back that it has moved on to being more valid to the virtual arena. I'd love to hear that it has...

But it's just that in 2007 it was much more a large established PHYSICAL PRODUCT business to another large established PHYSICAL PRODUCT business kinda venue... With very little online stuff being represented.

Hmmm I doubt it as much... the kind of thing you seem to be referrign to is a "internext" type show in Europe... which I have never really seen, maybe Webmaster access in Amsterdam... but even thats a bit of a Bro's Club Show...

As I said even Internext in the USA has changed (for the worse IMO) the first year I attended it was about Billing Companies, Hosting Companies, Add On Stuff for Sites... and tonns of paysite owners and affiliates attending... Now it's just really the big paysites strutting their stuff !

I think most of the work gets done on message boards... chatting on ICQ and sending emails... the UK just hasnt got enough people for that type of show... neither site owners nor affiliatess...

Anyways that being said, as we shoot content always interested in things that may be usable in our shoots, dildos for example... might meet the odd model wandering around (well one that looks half human) and always interested in ways to distribute/monitorise our content such as strictly broadband or mobile means... so all in all I know my plan of action, what I am looking to achieve And have no high hopes lol...

The ETO Show focusses on the UK adult RETAIL industry, whether bricks' or clicks n' mortar. It does focus on the actual products to be sold rather than the technology behind the websites for online retailers. So for some, this might not be your cup of tea. For others there may be some value in exploring the possibilities and making contacts.

It's obvious that there are sub-sector get-togethers in the adult indsutry - there's "Beer n' Bollocks" for the webbers, ETO for the retailers, UKAP for the film side of things, and there's also AITA - the industry trade body. But what if you want to explore the possibilities across different sub-sectors?
