Matt's argument is baloney.

An animal cannot give consent, therefore it's ok to have sex with it. Small children cannot give consent, so is that ok too?

Moreover, the higher male animals are not spontaneously attracted to human females (even during their breeding season) so beastialists (like factory farmers etc) are interfering with natural behaviour.

Of course, you might want to say that this is ok and that only my/our pleasure counts. So you put yourself in the same camp as De Sade or Max Stirner. But most of us would rather be in the human race (with all its faults!).

The reason is it is unatural and perverted for one species to fuck another. It fucks up our gene pool which is why normal folk are repulsed by animal sex.

It's nothing at all to do with "fucking up our gene pool". There is very limited natural inter-species breeding, it just doesn't work. A horse and a donkey have sterile offspring.

Oh dear, I don't want to get into an argument that makes me appear to be in favour of animal porn/bestiality, but you're wrong to say animals don't try cross-species sex. It happens more often than you might think. Never had a dog try to mount your leg? One of my cats frequently tries to copulate with various bits of my anatomy - my forearms, shins and feet seem to be favourite.

Having said all of that, please let it be understood that I am NOT in favour of animal porn.
