Come on guys. This isn't what it should be about here. Nothing wrong with healthy debate, but this has turned into one of the nastiest threads I've ever read.
If any moderators / admin bods are reading this, I urge them to shut it down now and lock the thread.

I find it ironic that the very person who initiated this thread on the decline of the UK now descends to the worst kind of personal abuse and name-calling.
Maybe the UK is improved by his decamping to France......lol

Attention mods,
Totally agree with Flat_Eric, this thread has descended into personal & offensive abuse, time to call a halt/close/delete the thread & issue the main protagonists with a warning about their behaviour on threads.
