All too depressing and ontrospective to be funny.
And she was a lousy drummer. But that's a whole other can of bees [3-0].

Didn't Karen Carpenter play the drums? That would surely destroy the argument that women need to be built like a brick shit house to bang a snare? Then there's the female drummer from the White Stripes (whose album 'Elephant' currently rests at the UK number one album spot).
If the drummer from Def Leppard can knock out a passable monolimbed drum solo, then there's every chance the fairer sex can get a good beat going when the mood to ROCK! strikes them?
As for female comic writers, they generally tend to invest way too much engery into scripting variations on loud menstrual sqwaking; rather then aiming for humour which bridges the gender abyss. Witness any open mike comedy club spot where the female protaginist spends ten minutes talking about cakes, children and uteral bleeding and the assembled groans of the auidence will confirm my point.

Errrr....I was actually referring to mammarial swinging when hitting the wilder riffs.
With my tongue firmly in cheek, of course.
I caught a bit of Donna McPhail's 'act' once. Great. Honest. Er. Um.
Nearly as amsing as Jenny Eclair potty-mouthing for 40 solid minutes without once cracking anything remotely resembling a joke. Hilarious.

I doubt it'd be your cup of tea: not enough tit jokes.
Mark Gatiss (I think) also starrred in the excellent, savagely satirical 'TLC'. With, of course, gorgeous Nurse Judy..........
