When I was a kid my brothers were all talking something called Atom Heart Mother & I thought what are they all on about. That was my introduction to Pink Floyd.
I liked Dark Side of the Moon thought it was a great album, along side Animals & Wish You Were Here.

IMO theres room for all
We all have our favourites
By the way Ace...the neighbours like the Clash Live better than The sex Pistols live judging by looks the next day.Personally I find the Clash far to articulate when I'm pickled...The Pistols have that raw anti social edge that any neandethal can understand
Still haven't been able to attract any boys on blue-must be a low priority
neighbour complaints about loud music...lol
One of the strangest polls I ever saw was by melody maker? that ran a poll asking for the top 100 heavy rock/metal songs
The Winner Judas Priest with 9...my grandmother rocks harder than those posers ever did
cheers
B....OZ MMMMMM Rock Candy

Ex-Scottish Roadies make the best frontmen because they've got personality
He had attitude in spades..the good time attitude which everbody can relate to...the evil glint in the eye...the lewd comments
As you say every February we mourn hi passing...23 years ago if I'm not mistaken...One of a kind
cheers

The Clash were fantastic, and helped blow away some of the crap that prog rock had produced----but some of the prog bands were worth listening to. Anyway, we all have our own reasons for liking different things. Music can evoke clear memories of particular moments in your life.
Dire Straits, for example, reminds me of the time I almost lapsed into a coma---funnily enough while listening to Dire Straits.

The ONLY prog rock song worth a piss is ELP's 'theme for a common man' that boxer Alan Minter used to have played when he made his entrance to the ring. A REAL boxer, not a ponce who gave up after getting a nick over his eye. He never dodged anybody, but deserved to get beat by Hagler when he made a nasty comment that 'no black man will have my title' Hagler was in a different class, but Minter had a go.... something some of these 'boxers' nowadays could do well to think about.
