Sparks , namely Ron and Russell Mael are still going strong today. I saw them in 1974 at Bournemouth supported by PILOT.

wat i liked about purple was although they were heavy they had melody.

Quite so. They were the band That got me into playing Lead guitar.Ritchie Blackmore is my guitar hero!.The mark II line-up was the best. HIghway Star on Made In Japan..... fantastic...
