As a Muso who I once worked with said

What is that bubble gum rock your playing...my reply...Where are you playing next...I'll come and heckle you

The J Geils Band.....underrated in the extreme....

Strangely all i have left is 2 Greatist Hits CDs which really show 2 distinct eras

Best of(up to 1979) & Flashback(after 1979)

I think they are both class even the stuff before the big break in 1981

I must get another copy of Freezeframe(1981) for Piss on the Wall(classic)

Never buy tapes ...they always die if you like them

cheers

The whole Freezeframe album was pretty special.....catchy lyrics with some unusual sounding musical arrangements...Flamethrower being a perfect example

You'd expect after 15 years together with the same line-up eventually they'd you'd hit gold.It says they did in my 1983 Rock Yearbook(Virgin Books)

The magic of the harmonica(whammer jammer)...sadly missing today

cheers

Cheap Trick are a band that I have all their recordings on CD, but not this one Stevie, BUT the beauty of 'Trick is that they bang out tunes all the time, so chances are they DID do it but I don't have it.

Kiss on the other hand relied on gimmicks et al to sell 'ropey' tunes. Brilliant marketing and Simmons/Stanley made SERIOUS millions from this. Bimmercat is correct that whilst these 70's bands like Boston and Styx may not be everyones taste, they DID produce REAL music as opposed to the shite churned out nowadays

The West London of my youth is now on dvd
