The only things annoying me are your assumptions:
a) that I'm ignorant of Anglo-Irish history; and
b) that, even if I were remotely interested in it (which I'm not, apart from 15th-17th C. stuff and before), a lack of the requisite knowledge would in the slightest degree distress me (which it wouldn't).
