Trouble with a muzzle is alot of big dogs would rather kill tnemselves getting out of them, also if another dog attcks yours he is rendered defenless.
I keep mine on leads uless completely alone,

Also give it time Magoo to build a a relationship with your dog, he must know you are boss.

Have you tried the Halter type collar?

They're usually made of that nylon webbing type stuff, a loop goes over the pooches mouth and on the underside is the D-ring to conect your lead and the rest of the stuff clips around the dogs neck to secure it. These are pretty good as it controls the dogs head and not the neck. It worked for the Great Dane/ Labrador/ Mastiff cross that had a thing for chasing Horses and cows. These collars are good as long as the mutt is on the lead and not left to run free.

Very true....in the end it all comes back to obedience

Once you start treating your dog as an equal you always have problems with control

I see the yanks have taken owning a pet to the next level in New York
Restaurants where you can dine with your pooch at the same table

Maybe Magoo should upgrade to a Great Dane and just ride it

Would certainly tell the dog who's boss and henceforth avoid all that obedience training needed to really take control
