What's wrong with government running healthcare? That's exactly what a government should be doing - running a healthcare system that provides adequate free healthcare for their citizens, in particular for the less well off who cannot afford private health insurance. Its a basic right to have access to free heathcare for anyone living in a socially responsible society.

Oh dear Redtriangle, you have fallen for all that Marxist bullshit. In any free society citizens should be free to die miserably in abject poverty.

Thats happening right here and now in the US of A with their wonderful private system as I understand it

Which explains why employer sponsored health insurance is more keenly sort than a decent wage

People living well below the poverty line are having to choose between basic necessities and seeinga Doctor for treatment

At the very least there should be universal health care for those living below the poverty line

Many just die in silence from conditions that are curable...a sad indictment on the land of the free

Then again....human population 6 billion and growing

It would seem life is cheap EVERYWHERE

A lot of corporations are cutting their workforces so they don't have to provide healthcare to employees. Employees are then hired from temp agencies like Manpower to replace those made redundant - so the corporations get a cheaper workforce who they don't have to pay health benefits to. You have people in the US with full time jobs working for some corporations that are considered temporary workers, despite working for years for them, some over 10 years. Microsoft is the template for this type of employment.

Management will do anything to get their yearly profit bonus

Its one thing to reduce costs but at the expense of your employess is bizarre

I can imagine Morale must be almost non-existant and with the spectre of jobs being out sourced overseas you wonder where it will all end

In the end if we the employees all agree to work for peanuts it should be OK

Of course it won't end at all the jobs being outsourced. The top brass, otherwise known as the snouts in the trough, will make sure their jobs are secure.
Correction, if their jobs are outsourced, they all get platinum diamond-studded handshakes.
