customs do not have their own ideas: as long as the material being imported complies with current r18 guidelines they won't interfere with it. fortunately, the guidelines encompass the bulk of material available from the states.

the silliness factor lies in the current situation whereby it is legal to import h/c material from abroad but not to post it within the uk. these restrictions even apply to anything that is r18 certficated. bonkers or what!

What I would be interested to know Wooders and somebody maybe able to enlighten me is what happens if a company did get caught mailing R18 titles via the Royal Mail?

What would they get charged with?

Would it be the Obscene Publications Act of sending obscene material through the post?

Or is there another law that it would come under?

Anybody have any ideas?

The reason why I ask is because if it does (and I say if) come under the Obscene Publications Act then that intrigues me as to how a film classified by a gowernment aprroved body and therefore deemed to be legal can be classed as obscene.

I would presume it would be another law as if an average bloke like me can think of that then surely some hotshot lawyer/barrister can think the same and much more.
