What exactly is your problem Arnold? Do you have a personality defect?
Perhaps the word-play on "drag" and "transvestite" is too subtle for you.

"I do ... but not exactly from a point of participation"

I believe you - and anyone who says differently is a liar, oh yes.

For one its not called a marriage its called a Civil Union and 2 it doesn't require a ceremony, just a signing of documents as I understand it

I somehow suspect that religious orders aren't going to start performing these as most are openly opposed to anything GAY

Interesting essay here about the pros & cons of gay civil unions
Very well thought out pice of literature

We've had ridiculous rants down here Deuce. The Destiny Church mis-describing them as "marriages" and how they threaten the sacred institution of heterosexual marriages. I don't see where they're coming from.
I've joked to people that I wouldn't have moved to NZ if I'd realised I would be forced into a gay relationship. After all, there are more than enough sheep to go round....lol. [ Thought I'd get that in before some other clever bugger does].

Some people will never accept gays in any form

There are religious nuts worldwide preaching intolerance, nothing new there.

Check out the smalltown bigoted US preacher fred phelps that Michael Moore visited in the Sodom Mobile during his awful truth series

a little excerpt

Moore, you see, is a married heterosexual who doesn't mind if people think he's one of the unthinkables. He and his gang dress up like gay stereotypes. His Sodomobile is decorated in fashionable leopard skin wallpaper and adorned with pictures of Oscar Wilde. Signs on its exterior read: "If the Sodomobile's a Rockin' Don't Come a Knockin" and "Buggery on Board." Background music is courtesy of Madonna and The Village People.

Personally I think the institution of marriage died along time ago along with the relevance of organised religion

If you took out the couples who have lived together for what ever amount of time before getting engaged/married then its already dead

No civil union ceremony is going to come close to destroying the institution of marriage like that already has

I'm invited to a lesbian wedding in a couple of weeks. You didn't say if your prejudice extends to female-female couples or it's just gay blokes that give you the willies.

"Is it true that Ken Livingstone is introducing a congestion charge waiver for gays and lesbians bearing special number plates on their cars?"

Yes, and you also get let off the charge if you drive into town naked and painted pink, with The Sound of Music sound track blaring out of your windows. Give it a try.
