I must admit I never think of Gay Glitter or take much notice of his incarceration of future release. He'll be followed round the world by reporters from the Sun and NOTW for the rest of his life, so chances are he'll be caught for any crime he commits. He would be mad to return to the UK though, because he wouldn't be safe - the last I heard he was thinking of Hong Kong.

No, you don't.
I have never subscribed to that mass hysteria about paedos.
They should be punished accordingly for what they have done (and not for what they are), no more , no less.

Bull! Ethical issues aside, the former action would be (in that combination) a waste of public resources.

We shall not have a choice once he has done his time.
Do I want him back? Of course not! But neither would I want burglars back, or muggers, or rapists, or con artists, or Jeffrey Archer.

'Convicted child molester Gary Glitter will be deported back to the UK after being released from prison in Vietnam next week.
"He will be deported back to Britain," Glitter's lawyer Le Thanh Kinh said.
"Police booked his ticket from Ho Chi Minh City to London and I have already paid for the ticket on his behalf."
Glitter's flight departs on Tuesday.'

Who really cares?
The media only whip up the storm because his 'legendary status' was of their making, so they are determind to hound him forever. If it wasn't for the red-tops media machines he would (by the time of his arrest) have simply been a footnote in rock for a series of excellent singles in the early 70's and a series of embarrassing attempted subsequent comebacks - and not some 'national treasure'

Some sensible postings on here - unlike certain national newspapers who have postings from idiots saying that their kids can no longer walk the streets in safety because Gary Glitter is in England - conveniently forgetting that the vast majority of children who are abused are abused by someone they know - father, uncle, family friend, etc which makes such a mockery of Rebekah Wade's weird name and shame campaign. Most paedophiles can never be named because in doing so, it would name the child/victim.
Gary Glitter was sent down in the UK for downloading kiddie porn - not for molesting little girls. Are we all so sure he is guilty? He was sentenced in a backward country not known for its adherence to law and justice - and one of the chief prosecution witnesses was an 18-year-old prostitute who was already in prison.
And why are we so concerned about punishing our citizens for crimes abroad? Are we such paragons of justice that we never make mistakes? Ask the Birmingham Six, Guildford Four, Bridgewater Three, Barry George, Derek Bentley, Timothy Evans....

There's an excellent article here
on what should really be concerning people about this utterly ridiculous media circus.
They had the editor of News Of The World on the news on friday explaining why they're hunting Paul Francis Gadd with such vigour - not because he's guilty of the sex offences, more that he's guilty of courting the media over the years to maintain his career which makes this 'fair game'. So, there you have it - the home office is now officially being dictated to by the coke-snorting reptiles of the red tops.
What's the more shameful, a talentless perv who will be the victim of his hype & vanity and in reality is his own worst enemy, or a country's historic constitution being chewed up and spat out for the sake of tabloid headlines & spin?
