Good! As long as your manor allows black people I might just take you up on that offer! (When I get enough loot saved up!)

I"ve got an interesting spin on americans visiting the UK. I believe somewhere in the 1990's there was attacks against blacks by some whites, might have been skinheads during that time and in Russia as well. Was that true?

Well, I've been to Cardiff, Swansea, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Dundee, Sheffield, Leeds, Manchester, Liverpool, Barrow in Furness, Preston, Derby, Wolverhampton, Nottingham and elsewhere "North of Watford" and I recall seeing plenty of McDonalds, KFCs etc, seen plenty of uneducated illiterate obese people walking around in Nike from head to foot, and although I havn't witnessed any myself, I understand there are people with guns shooting each other in the streets... just Like London... or Detroit.
Sadly the very worst of American "culture" has permeated into pretty much ALL of our high streets... enough to make any American feel at home in any large British town or city.

Whites attacking blacks? In the 90's? In the UK?
Nothing out of the ordinary. The skinheads were mainly from the late 70's to early 80's.

Well I must admit Bob you surprise me! I have always (and still do) have the upmost respect for you but from your posts it does sound as though you are very predijuced towards America and Americans....
The fact that people chosse to gorge thier faces on kfc, mcdonalds and starbucks until they are mobidly obese cannot be blamed on American itself.
What you eat is is a matter of personal choice, personally I would love nothing more then to lie around all day eating choclate cake and vanilla ice cream but if i did I would beocme obese so I choose not too, Obesity is becoming a mass problem around the whole world, it's just that the America, being such a huge country with so many people, sadly, got there first.
There wouldn't be starbucks all over the UK if Brits did not buy the stuff, it's as simple as that, nobody forces them ro buy it.
When I was myself was a kid it was all the range then to walk round in Addidas and Nike clothes, so it sound's like not much has changed... You can't blame America on UK kids running round shooting people, you blame the kids parents for not looking after the kids.
Those are most thoughts

Layla, I'm not prejudiced against individual Americans, but I'm less than happy by the way American "culture" has invaded, and been allowed to invade, the rest of the world.
Have you been to Bali, for example? When I first went there 25 years ago it was almost unspoilt... go there today and it's a mass of Hyatts, Sherattons, McDonalds, Wendys, Starbucks and God-knows what else.
The most anti-American country in Europe is France and while there are a few "McDos" in Paris and other big cities, the Americanisation of the French way of life hasn't been as all pervasive as, say, London. I admire them for it. The French have said, "We have our own culture, we don't need to copy someone elses", and good on them I say.
Since the end of WWII, America has in effect launched a two-pronged attack on the rest of the world. Either buy in to our culture or prepare to be bombed... and for that, I cannot forgive them and will not stay silent.

Of course! I will not tolerate "Racialism" (As a certain celebrity would say). I am lucky enough to have visited the USA many times and travelled extensively over there and I dare say I've seen more of the country than most Americans. I think it's a great country, the scenery and natural environment are incredible and I found the people to be fantastic. If I could choose one place on earth to spend the rest of my life it would be Montana, it's quite simply the most beautiful place I've ever seen.

He'd forgotten that some Americans were black. !wink!
Come to London - you'll have a ball. A black friend of mine moved here from Texas last year and she doesn't miss the sound of gunshot. !grin!

Southern England is rightwing in its attitudes, but don't include London in that. London doesn't count as England - it has a culture all its own (thank fuck - English people moan too much).
