Indeed. In an interview Parky himself said in his defence that the celebs now just aren't up to the standard of the past (or his past, shall we say, when he could get the likes of Jimmy Stewart on the show).
Perhaps he has a point, but that infamous interview with Meg Ryan (clips on Youtube) is the embarrassing and fascinating spectacle of a seasoned pro suddenly finding they're all at sea with no-one to blame but themself. He is faintly patronising throughout.
