The plural of game is games not game's.
You can have a plural of a plural? And 'no' it isn't anyway!
Wazza -I'm sure- will correct us in the morning, but:
"We had a game of football." (singular)
"We had two games of football." (plural)
"The game's players became tired quickly." (showing the 'players' belonging to the 'game'(singular game))
"The games' players became tired quickly." (showing the 'players' belonging to both games)
Or have I got it wrong?

I was thinking more along "the lines of the player's did well"---which annoys the FUCK out of me.
Semantics---or Samantics

Nope, it's: "the lines of players did well" (if you're talking about groups of players in lines)
or "the lines of the player's did well" (if you're talking about lines that belong to one player)
or "the lines of the players' did well" (if you're talking about lines that belong to the whole group of players)
It's only 'player's' if you are referring to something that belongs to the players in some way. Like:
"the player's boots were all muddy." (an individual's boots were muddy)
or
"the players' boots were all muddy." (the whole group of players had boots that were muddy)
You've started something now Carac....I bet you wish you'd never brought the subject up! !laugh!
I'm far from a grammarian, or the best at punctuation though! Whew....I'll test you on this on 01/01/09 !wink!

No, I'm happy enough---just wish I'd read what I wrote last before posting it. Too lax with the quote marks.
I blame the beer.
Night all; hope you're feeling better Sam; hope it cools off a little for you, Buttsie; and I hope Leo Bloom doesn't turn out to be Wazza's new monicker (just what we need, another stream of consciousness poster).
Welcome, Leo.

Just got back in from a New Year Party at my local boozer and am now settling down to a Kopparberg Apple Cider and 2 packets of Beef Hula Hoops ... how fucking bliss is this miss??
Happy New Year to all and merry - hope my mother makes a better job of the New Year Dinner than her Xmas Burnie Burnie Beef (and that isn't a local delicacy btw).
