Hey!!
Pork pies,eh? Well im from pork pie town,and can recomend the following
Also if your ever in the are give Baileys pies a spin (available from Derek Jones the butcher across from the picture house) they are my personal favourite.
Well now you have made me all hungry im off to cook my fecking soup. Still only another 7 lbs to go....

I'm sorry but I don't rate Melton Mowbray pork pies - a bit too greasy for my liking.

Never really liked em. Like Caractacus, it's the jelly stuff that puts me off.
My dad loves em though, and he goes to a place in Barnsley, who're apparently good. ?1 each.

You can buy ones that don't have the jelly enclosed.

I buy mine for exactly the same price - although they're on the small size.

I can only eat cold pork pies - even ones at room temperature taste dodgy. I could never eat one that has been baked, or worse, fried !sick!

"pork farms" is owned by northern foods in nottingham...
There is an urban legend (I believe its legend) that one of its employes mixed his wife and her lover into them after he killed them both for having an affair and he, the employee, worked on the late shift so was un-supervised, lol.
I used to do computer stuff for them many many years ago.
As a kid i hated pork pies cos I didnt like the jelly... nowadays I love them with a nice bit of pickle. My lad loves them as well and when I buy them if I dont eat them quick enough he munches them before I have a chance!

Ahhhhhh the Northern foods factory. Oh so many nights I have stood at the Showcase over the road having a fag gazing longingly at this wonderfull place. Its kinda like Willy Wonka's factory for me. I dream that one day they will hide a golden ticket inside every millionth Scotch egg and I may experiance it's many secret wonders!!
Alas i'm sure it will remain little more than a dream. *sigh*
