I only watch 30 mins each week of ITV - TV Burp. The only other thing worth watching is Dexter (and soon Pushing Daisies), but I've already seen all of them already.
Anyway, must get back to watching Monk on DVD.

I think the rot reallty set in with the start of Carlton (who incidentally had David Cameron as PR Spin Doctor). They produced appalling formulaic garbage and it seemed that they were incapable of producing any drama without a murder and a detective in it. They were completely fixated by crap.
Carlton was a product of the Thatcherite era.

ITV are in a downward spiral. They have to produce "populist" programmes in order to appease the advertisers. But these "populist" programmes are not watched by many of the target audience. This means that ITV have to produce programming of an even lower standard which in turn are not watched by many, and so the spiral continues rapidly going downhill.

You look at crap like X Factor,Dancing On Ice and Dumb and Dumber......sorry,Ant and Dec,and you wonder why our Youth of today and lazy, uneducated housewives, and some blokes are what they are.
Saturday night TV these days only appeases the wafer thin, shallow types of our society.
Thank fuck it was great when i was a kid !happy!

The first episode was shown between 8 and 9 PM last nite on ITV4. I think it is reapeated twice during the week as well.
Superb series but a real shame that the last two episodes disintegrate into incohent garbage as the writers cant come up with any convincing coherent explanation of who number 1 is etc.
