I think the problem with Hick was that he was promoted as this high class batsman who could score hundreds at will, but when he made his long awaited debut he came up against Ambrose and Walsh in their pomp and was sorely undone from which he never really recovered.

True.

He always looked relaxed whilst playing ODI's, whereas at Test level he looked a bag of nerves.
