UPDATE

Well, it's day three back on the cigarettes and I woke up to a violent coughing fit (strangely, my smoker's cough was entirely absent throughout my year as a pipe smoker). Luckily, I made it to the bathroom in time, for the coughing fit culminated in abundant vomiting.

Now, at this point, I must mention that my wife has said some rather uncomplimentary things about Dr. Perrin and thinks I need my head testing for paying him any heed. In her own words: "anyone with half a fucking brain can see that the pipe was far better for your health than the cigarettes!".

Don't get me wrong; the shortage of breath, dreadful coughing and nausea are beginning to test my faith in The Perrin System, but I am going to persevere with it - his arguments are just so damned convincing.

I'll keep you posted.
