Because thanks to the UK's shallow, superficial but very lucrative "celebrity culture" (perhaps "industry" would be a better term for it) that so richly rewards the talentless, Goody is already a millionnairess many times over even without all this publicity.

And as Reggie says, people are already "aware" of cancer - so the "raising awareness" argument is tosh as well.

Sure, there may be some who've now been and got themselves screened who otherwise might not have done, but Goody's story has already been in the news for months - so is it really necessary to have her wedding pictures splashed all over Okay and Hello! and all those other crap celebrity mags as well?

The whole thing has now descended to the level of tasteless farce.

And are the likes of Max Clifford involved for altruistic reasons? I think not. One wonders just how much he'll be trousering from all this in his capacity as her "publicist".

Hey guess what? We are 30 posts deep on this and I cant help but see the irony in that she gets a lot of media attention and certainly the same (whether you love or hate her) here on the BGAFD too.

I am not influenced in the slightest by jades people as I dont watch her on the news or the programmes she is on.

I only know what I tlaked about which is all I happen to know and I've formed my opinion on that. Maybe you know a lot more than i do with regards her so if anyone is brainwashed of influenced perhaps it is you.

Yes she came across as common on that BB show she was on (again I only know what I saw on the news) so shoot me if Im not up on all things Miss Goody. All I see is a woman who is a mother of two dying of cancer and she is making all this money and Im convinced its not so it can buy her a state funeral so if she is doing this for her kids how can you not see this as a noble thing to do.

Its not unlike a bunch of friends rallying around to raise money for treatment for their dying friend.

She has decided to rinse this for what she can on the way out rather than go away quietly to reflect before death. I think she would be stupid not to given the attention she has got from those contributing...Yeah sure its a cool thing to appear in th emedia saying I helped Jade Goody by donating this and that ( I can see that making real people a bit queasy) Shes taking advantage of it by riding the wave until the bitter end.

Why dont yo ube honest and just admit you resent it. thats how it appears. No ones going to belittle you for it.

That was said like a true socialist. I'm fast coming to believe that Britain is becoming socialist everyday and its very own people just dont see it. Thanks for illustrating that to me.

Another example is how Brits just hate other brits who become successful..Like Jamie Oliver. Once the man is seen driving around in a Range Rover Sport everyone thinks he is a knob head and a wanker when in truth the guy hasnt changed from being his common swear wordy mouthed type that he always was.

Its people that change towards them not them towards their public. Never a truer word was said when on the programme he went up north to teach a whole bunch of kebab eating fast food junkies how to cook cheap and all they could see was a flash millionaire in his big car talking down to them.

You'd think these people were communists bemoaning the guy for being capitalist. If people were willing to pay him disgusting amounts like Jade Goody then so be it. Your resentment sounds dangerously like jealousy to me and strange though it may seem, I dont blame you, you probably work hard in a day job then see someone getting it handed on a plate to them for nothing.

Thing is Jade Goody is as someone else pointed out, the queen put on a pedal to distract you from the real issues at hand so you can waste time and energy bitching about her.

Lord help us if we really woke up one morning and started a real revolution (but you know that one would not be televised) The media would rather ram Russell Brand making sexual comments at an ex girl more newsworthy than deal with the real issues at hand because its the public that have taught them through ratings that we love superficiality, fast food and all that is disposable.
