Hi OEJ

Thanks for taking the time to expand on your argument. I entirely agree with you that whichever government is in power, they need to address the underlying issues which have resulted in the success of the BNP at the recent elections i.e. disillusionment with mainstream politicians, huge increases in unemployment, growing gap between rich and poor in this country.

The only thing I would say is that there has been a very rapid increase in right wing parties in Europe, particularly Eastern Europe and it would be very sad if the BNP managed to get into a position of holding say, the balance of power in a hung parliament and could then influence the policies that govern us.

Many might regard this as very fanciful. Although Germany in the 30s was a different scenario, it is perhaps worth pointing out that Hitler was regarded as a buffoon by the German mainstream politicians at the beginning of the thirties.

Sometimes the unimaginable happens.

All the best

Not inaccurate. Your response to Nikonman's posting, Plea for peace was on the lines of
"So you are doing someone else's dirty work now"
Maybe you do not regard this as an insult but most people would. It implies that Nikonman is brainless and cant think for himself.
My post is therefore accurate as far as I am concerned.
Cheers

No, this is a misrepresentation.

If you reread the link from OEJ's original post there is going to be an investigation by the Equalities and Human Rights commission into whether the policies of the BNP breach the Race Relations act and therefore should lead to a legal injunction.

Personally I believe that parties that racially discriminate and preach hatred should be banned. This is my view but might not necessarily be shared by others. Clearly it is not me that decides this but case law. if the case finds that they are breaking the race discrimination act and the BNP refuse to change their policies I think the BNP deserves to be banned. Whether this happens or not is a different matter.

I may have phrased the sentence poorly. I trust the above explains clearly what I think.

This would constitute abuse to the vast majority of people. Especially given the recipient of this abuse was someone who I cannot recall having anything mildly controversial or remotely abusive to say in any of their many posts. Like I said when I come across serial bullies like yourself I tend to respond in kind, rightly or wrongly. It is important that serial bullies like you are on the receiving end occasionally.
