Yeah.....that was my point, jj. His jibe at GB for not being 'voted for' is invalid as an argument against him; we don't vote for PMs ? hence my asking him to give an example of a PM we have voted for.

Seems like you don't know the difference between an oil rig and an oil platform.

Interesting how if Blair was even discusiing the Lockerbie bomber issue that would suggest the BRITISH Prime Minister has an interest in all of this. Funny how recently the Government in London (is that the British Govt, or just the English and Welsh Govt - the latter if you look at how people have been acting recently) regard it all as a Scottish matter. All this proves that the whole devolution thing is confusing, contradictory, and makes little sense. It was something done by the tartan mafia within the Labour Party in the late 1990's as they felt Scotland had not had enough input into the running of its own affairs over many decades - and they may have had a point there. However, when it comes to these very politicans benefitting, namely hold top office in London, the differnt position which they implemented is conveniently forgotten. Do people think it would be reasonable for us to have a PM who was born and raised in Ireland in Downing Street?

A few people have mentioned the oil. It may well be in Scottish waters, some say it is morally Norway's, but consider this: would the oil fields have been able to have been secured and exploited had it not been for the existance of the United Kingdom?

When I was serving a popular expression to describe a crowd of inadequate incompetent selfseeking up their own arses was "A bunch of cunts" My son and his comrades still use it.
The Yanks have FUBAR, fucked up beyond all recognition, but I think British Army speak beats all.
Though cunts are usefull, and I luv em, in the above context it says it all.
I still use it to this day.
