I never suggested you were a liar sir, though your use of language reveals alot. And for you're information the terrorrism act allows the Police to stop and question anyone about their activities. It is a limited power in that its authorisation has to be granted by a Senior police officer for a period of time usually a month at a time, but covers an area carte blanche so the whole of Surrey for example.

Its a power that can be utilised to the Police's advantage for collection of information and intelligence yes, however stopping random members of the public ie you, is not an abuse, it is exactly what the Act is designed for.

Just thank your lucky stars that it doesn't confer the right to drag you off without warning and extract information by whatever method they deem necessary as in other countries.

You'll have to forgive the Police for a. their lack of psychic powers and b/ their inability to not be able to read the label you were wearing stating that you're not a terrororist/criminal but the person behind me definitely is can't you see their label etc
