"96,000 Welsh children live in severe poverty"
if the Welsh government didn't spend twice as much as they need to on road signs and road markings (spelling everything out twice, once in English and once in Welsh), they might have a bit of money left to spend relieving child poverty.

Well, thanks for that.
I wouldnt argue against Geri from the Spice Girls as a political thinker of our time.
I've changed my mind already!
Cheers

Geri Halliwell.
One of these children born in the UK who was born to MOTHERS BORN ABROAD (her mother was Spanish) - you'd think she' be a born Labour supporter.
Lots of good examples of the poster here..

To be honest, you dont come across as a very happy chappy.
Your brain appears to be churning over.... illegal immigrant, dole scrounger, illegal immigrant, dole scrounger, illegal immigrant etc. etc.
For example, when I provide a link to the fact that the number of students attending college has increased substantially under Labour, you start blathering on about illegal immigrants "There has been an increase in people PRETENDING to be overseas students. Yet more illegal immigration"
Admittedly there are more students from overseas attending universities, but it is my understanding that they pay substantially more than UK citizens anyway. This doesnt negate in any way the main point that there are more UK citizens attending college, does it?
Then when the link I provided mentions that under Labour, the Surestart scheme has helped first time mums in particular, as have the increases in child benefits, your brain starts sticking in the same old record track and you blather on about "24% of the children born in the UK last year were to MOTHERS BORN ABROAD. So we are letting people in, then giving them money hand over fist to have more and more kids" as if the hundreds of thousands of people who leave Britain every year never have any kids themselves. All of the UK citizens who have moved to France and Spain, they never have children do they? This doesnt negate in any way the main point that there has been an increase in help for UK children, does it?
As for your comments about benefit scroungers. Like I said elsewhere, round our way its full of Scandinavians, Germans, Austrians, Belgians etc living it up on the fantastic dole benefits that we get here. Its like being in dole heaven, the Scandinavians say. Dont make me larf!
When I ask you to provide a list of things that Thatcher and Major did in their decades of governance, all you can come up with is "By making the whole country richer, which filters down to everybody."
I assume that you dont mean by this that Thatcher waved her magic wand and we all ended up with thousands of pounds extra in our wallets? I assume that you mean that by making the owners of the wealth creation organisations such as manufacturing companies, heavy industries, banks, etc etc more money filters down to everybody.
This is pathetic. Its the concept that made peasant life in the 18th and 19th century so wonderful, lol. Make the landowners more wealthy and we will all be more wealthy. Its the concept that can be referred to as the "Marie Antoinnette, let them eat cake" idea. Its the argument that had Fred Goodwin, sniggering all the way to his bank balance.
THe state has to intervene to try to make things more equal. THe Labour party could have done a lot more than they have, but at least they have made some efforts to help the worst off. As you implicitly point out, the Conservatives would do nothing, as usual.

Thanks

This thread is a testament why "common man" politics are infact futile, and a normal human being shouldn't dabble with such nonsense.
It's simply a neverending cycle of people blabbering on and on about the goddamn economy, welfare subsidization and immigrants. While these topics certainly can be interesting, I think it's borderline obsessive for some. If any of these topics are the kind you feel stand in the way of your ultimate nirvana, I suggest you use the NHS for something else than badmouthing in in a political rant.
I'm not the age president here as I am sure there are many people older than me, but I'm sure if you people recall past times, it's always been about bitching how the government sodomizes you, and how dole is so fantastic everyone considers switching, and how them dotheads/pakis/darkies/ufos/reptilians will topple the respective government anyone happens to live in (England for the most part in regards to this forum, I'd assume).
I'm already getting kind of anxious in waiting for the economic collapse of the western world, and then incoming madmax-esque world of survivalist rule. Some people always keep promising these, they've been promising it for as long as I can remember, and no doubt when it's 2030 and there's an election coming up, I'm still waiting.
Incase someone gets offended, I didn't mean anyone personally with this little brainfart.
Have a nice day
