Re: British jobs for british workers
I left Stalag Luft Britain several years ago partly because I could not
stand the political and social values of Britain.....
Since then nothing has improved....
And, should you read this, dear Jim Slip, my comment was not personal.
You can rave and rant about the Labour Party as much as you want.
I just do not want you bursting a blood vessel doing it. Save your energy
for the scenes old boy.
Sorry to badger you ! In my book all politicians are untrustworthy scum !
Until proved otherwise.....
Re: Jim
The other thing with the Big Society volunteer scheme is funding.
Not by the Government but by those who sign up to help Green Dave and the ?30 minimum for the CRB checks needed.
If call me Dave wants to scrap the funding / donation of the costs how are the checks which are needed going to be paid for?
Scrapping isn't an option and selective checking for vulnerable group areas isn't either.

Lizard
Quite right, Lizard. Vote for those Tory toffs. A man knows where he is with those lads. Or alternatively you could go for Cleggism, it's very a la mode, apparently. Mind you, I never thought of you as a media queen. Heat magazine just wouldn't be you.

Re: British jobs for british workers
Joining the EU might have hastened it but to me lower wages are inevitable
in this global new world order
I've watched businesses retrench whole levels of frontline/lower/middle management only to offer the same positions(now under a different title)to underlings below them
These positions were once paying paying AUS45,000-60,000 per year now on offer at AUS35,000-50,000
Factor in all the out sourcing to 3rd party sub-contractors and the wages are lower again
Thats been going on for decades with no foreign worker involvement
We're on a slippery slope to the bottom so might as well get used to it
