...and end up with a shitload of compatibility probs with Windows.
Fine if you want DTP/CAD, and they're great to look at and easy to use, but Fuhrer Bill has done them up like kippers, alas, on the software front.

Not big enough, snappy lttle beasts, I want the Liz to be attacked by a serious set of jaws(or pussy) as long as they belong to the House of Winsome.

....I'd also advise the fastest bit-rate your wallet can afford, irrespective of what you intend to download: pages load quicker, especially those with illustrations, and you can receive large e-mails without the hassle and time-loss of 56k.

As an ex-postie, I have a deep and abiding loathing for Corgis.
But I love pussies.

Think I've just replied to wrong thread.
I ever find the original JW instead of his myriad descendents, I'm gonna kill him.

Yes, it was through DTP and design that I hooked up with Macs in the first place. Didn't know my RAM from my ROM when I went down to Dixon?s to ask about computers. The ubiquitous Dixon?s sales assistant called 'Darren' who knows fuck-all about consumer electronics or any of the products in the shop sagely said "Forget about Macs mate - you can't get any software for 'em" Of course I immediately realised he was a knob-head who wasn't aware what day it was, so pretended to humour him and then made my excuses and left. The next day I simply bought the best Mac available from Jigsaw Systems and proceeded to learn by doing and reading. Nowadays all the content, artwork, websites and unique videos you see are created and edited on a G4 Mac.
It?s true that ?they?re great to look at and easy to use?
There are no compatibility issues between the latest Macs and PC's as I'm sure my good friend Remington Steel could attest (I got the latest JPEG covers Rem and they?re reasonably cushty - the punters will love 'em!)
"Chairman Bill" knows which side his bread is buttered and he knows it's in his interest to support the Mac by porting important applications like 'Office' to it (strange as that at first may seem) If it looked like Microsoft were trying to stifle competition from Apple Microsoft would be in big trouble quicker than you can say "Anti Trust"

OK, at the end of the day you can do pretty much anything on both platforms - it's just that the Apple computing experience is a much easier, nicer and prettier one than PC - as others in this thread have also pointed out.

You may well be right with the newer Macs: haven't had a 'test drive' yet......

I did wonder what Liz had said to upset you...assuming we're talking about the same Liz........
