Remember the old days before the iron curtain came down? That reference will be lost on many forumites who only care about "beef curtains". It is tragic to see someone who is basicly leftish in his views (ie anti monarchy, anti MI5 snooping on us all etc) suddenly adopt the facist tones of those he most despises. But it happens when a bit of power is given - look at the Hobgoblin Robin Cook who used to be a ban the bomb CND type - once he got some power he was all for war. Jackboots Straw is another traitor/turncoat who abandoned his "principles" when he got some power. The list goes on. Tony himself has abandoned the policies that he once pretended to hold dear.

This rant is O/T but perhaps relevant to the general governing of society (or indeed a mini society such as this forum)
