Fair enough again

All good harmless fun though, just two guys winding each other up - having a rant on a forum whilst waiting for some porn to download on another site always helps to pass the time - better than minesweeper anyway.

Best porn I saw recently was Tessy & Lana giving it some hammer with dildos and strap-ons - top babes.

Oh dear, and here I was thinking you were an intelligent chap who simply held different views. But you have not directly addressed any of the points or arguments I put in my last post and you have not put any facts forward to bolster your argument but simply reeled off a seemingly pre-prepared script from the Little Red Book of politically correct phrases and statements that one should use when the other side is highlighting awkward points and facts and the wicket is getting sticky. You did what most folks do when they are losing the argument - you took things I said out of context, put combinations of works into my mouth that I did not quite say and twisted what I did say into something you know very well I did not intend or mean. Fer instance -

I didn't say that the working classes were "stupid" I did However point out that from my own experiences they most of them were not interested in art, politics philosophy or any other high minded stuff. This is fact. I know 'cause I am one of their number. Indeed they can't be all that stupid because they do concentrate on what is important in this short life - having as much fun as possible and not pretentiously wringing their hands over matters that do not directly concern them. However, I'll grant that I did suggest that the middle classes were - though certainly not to a man - pretentious twats.

I'm not a misogynist, because as I pointed out, I had looked up the meaning of the word in the Collins dictionary and it stated that a misogynist was someone who "hated" women. It didn't say anything about "seeing them as objects" which is not the case anyway and was not my meaning as you well know.

I didn't say anything about a conspiracy theory because I don't believe there is an organised cabal out there trying to turn us into a politically correct Big Brother state. However, I do believe we are sleepwalking in that direction.

Officer Dibble - he knows what?s going down and he also makes good porn films.

This could go on forever.

All that matters in life is to enjoy yourself as much as possible? - an extremely narrow view of humanity, but why is it not possible to enjoy the arts and philosophy? To dismiss all pursuits, other than stereotypical working-class ones, as pretentious is to lead a very empty life.

Well done on looking up a word in a dictionary - but I still find your view of women disagreeable, contradictory and, yes, misogynistic . You see their main virtues as being only those that are traditionally feminine and, for this reason, believe that they are incapable of performing high-powered jobs - I think that this is nonesense. You then mention your high regard for Lady Thatcher - presumably she is some sort of genetic freak?

For an example of women's leadership abilities, look at Britain's monarchs. This is a position obtained by chance rather than merit. There have not been many Queens, but I do not think that any of them have been weak and ineffective leaders, but there are plenty of Kings that fall into this category. So the example of empirical evidence from history disproves your theory.

The best selling broadsheet is the Telegraph, mid-market paper - the Daily Mail, tabloid - the Sun. None of these papers follow the agendas you despise. Again your theory that the press follows a politically correct agenda is nonesense, similarly the public are not following this agenda as they contine to buy these "anti-PC" newspapers in vast numbers.

I have no doubt that you are a very intelligent bloke, but you delude yourself if you believe that your view of the world is logical. It is just as prejudicial and inconsistent as mine.

So, just to wind up then

A much more rational and properly thought out rebuttal from Spook. There are anomalies and inconstancies and things that I didn't precisely say that I could pick over but the steam is running out of this particular debate and it's now such a long way back down the thread to traipse of an evening. So as buttsie suggested I propose we declare an honourable draw and maybe pick up where we left off some undefined time hence, in some quite late night bar, over a bottle of Jack Daniels.

And hey, checkout the memory on woodgnome!
