Autolycus, the reason people in Western countries find nuns horny is because they're forbidden fruit. There's nobody more desirable than a woman who is sworn to celibacy for life. So for that reason, nuns have always formed a big part of many men's (and women's I guess) fantasies.

I don't know if Islam has any equivalent to nuns, but even if it does, they're not part of the fantasies of most Western men, so wouldn't make such an interesting photo shoot (and damn, Victoria looks hot).

Surely, Autolycus, you suggesting that Red doesn't have the guts to do something is no different than someone else presuming to know what you are thinking. Red never said whether he would or would produce content as you describe, so why say he should prove you wrong? If you think Christianity has a sense of humour, you're deluding yourself. I don't think any religion exists that can "face ridicule". There are parts of America where you'd be shot for making jokes about Jesus.

In my experience, religion = intolerance, whether it's Islam, Christianity, Hinduism or anything else. We'd be better off without any at all.

But there's a special tendency for some people to single out Islam at the moment.

I don't object to the ridicule of religion, any religion, any cult. My point is that you or anyone else would not make a film with a Muslim theme because you know it would be far more trouble than it is worth. Look at what happened to Salman Rushdie. As for saying the audience don't want it, how do you know? You have never done it because you have far too much sense.

Btw: I have absolutely no objection to The Life of Brian or Jerry Springer: The Opera. It's the fact that people seem to think it is okay to denigrate Christianity (perhaps it is, I don't know) but the same people would not dream of criticising (in the same way) Islam.
